The Heart (Makes Such Sweet Sounds)

Thomas Wold

I'm going down the lazy river
I'll take you there on a raft of light I've built you a house made of leaves and stone
For some shelter from this cold, cold, cold, cold world
The river is wide and it's banks are golden
You ask me why do I call it home
Cause the current moves me and it brings me closer
So I ask you why are we the only ones still here?
I confess to all the rest
Cause when the spirit comes around
With a pen in the hand
The heart makes such sweet sounds
Shall we try and dive right under
So we can glide as we hold our hands
And move over this bed of clover
And look up at the blue, blue, blue, blue sky
The borrowed light that passes through you
Comes from above as it marks our way
To the place where we reach the delta
While the sun sets on this long, long, long, long day
I confess to all the rest
Cause when the spirit comes around
With a pen in the hand
The heart makes such sweet sounds
