Look Back & Laugh

Justin Hillman

It's always a late september afternoonWhen the summer leaves, it steals the greenAnd I shed my skin.Like always, as usual, a little bird bears good news
Everything north of here is frozen overBut my worlds on fire
If you asked me how I amI'd say "We all look back and laugh,I've let go of my past, and here I am.And, If all I have got is you, then I guess I have got it all.I mean what more could I want,or have the nerve to ask for?"
Someplace off route 41, there's a little room half way underground.Where the only sound, so sweet to my ears is the echo of a hymn, so strong it could erase all your fear.
And everything north of here is frozen overBut my worlds on fire
If you asked me how I amI'd say "We all look back and laugh,I've let go of my past, and here I am.And, If all I have got is you, then I guess I have got it all.I mean what more could I want,or have the nerve to ask for?"
I know I've got it all.
