Lofi Hip Hop Music and Mellow Beats

Audiosocket's lofi hip hop playlist is royalty free lofi music built mainly from instrumental hip hop beats, cleared for streams, study videos and vlogs. It leans toward underground hip hop rather than sleepy chillhop: steady drums and electronic textures carry the tracks while keyboards and electric guitar supply the hooks. Around nine in ten tracks are instrumental, including Finishing Move Inc's Purple Sky and Sleep State, so they sit cleanly under commentary.

About this Playlist

Almost all of it is instrumental: roughly nine in ten tracks have no vocals, which is why it works as lofi background music for streams and study videos. Several are explicitly instrumental versions, such as MC FÜBB's Creation (Instrumental) and Wonder Why (Instrumental) and Jackson Whalan's The Long Game (inst). The exception is a small set of vocal cuts like Kero One's Journey Together, so preview before dropping a track under narration.
Electronic production and drum programming lead nearly every track, with keyboards on most and electric guitar on roughly half, which gives the collection a warmer, more played feel than pure synth chillhop. Strings, mallets and world instruments appear on a handful of tracks for texture. Because keys and guitar carry the melody, the beats tend to stay mellow rather than bright, which is what you want under stream commentary or a voiceover.
This collection leans toward underground hip hop rather than soft bedroom chillhop. Swagger is the most common mood tag across the tracks, ahead of chill, and the sub-genres are dominated by hip hop instrumental beats and underground hip hop, with reference tags naming Common and Mos Def. In practice that means a firmer head-nod groove: still mellow enough for lofi beats for studying, but with more drive for gaming streams, city vlogs and cooking or DIY content, all of which appear among the themes tagged here.
Tracks run about three minutes on average, so a single cut covers a short segment and a queue of several fills an hour-long study or stream session without obvious repetition. Finishing Move Inc's Sleep State, Cloud Source and Purple Sky are examples of the instrumental cuts that stack well back to back. Since almost everything here is instrumental, you can talk over them without fighting a vocal.
This lofi music can be used on a monetized YouTube study channel: every track is cleared for commercial use under the license purchased, including monetized YouTube video and social, and each license is perpetual for the specific finished work it was issued for. Lofi study and stream channels sometimes receive automated YouTube Content ID claims; if that happens, dispute the claim and state that the track was licensed through Audiosocket. A subscription, billed monthly or annually, allows unlimited licensing during the term.
