Glitch Music and Glitch Hop for Tech Ads

Glitch music on Audiosocket is a collection of glitch hop, IDM and electronic hip hop beats selected for tech advertising, motion graphics and product videos. Chopped electronic textures and hard percussion drive the tracks, with guitar, keys and vocal FX on top; two thirds are instrumental, and several, like BH's Fight Forever (instrumental), ship as instrumental versions for voiceover. Expect swagger and high energy closer to Glitch Mob and BT than to ambient.

About this Playlist

Glitch music is electronic music that turns digital errors, such as clicks, stutters, skipped samples and bit-crushed or chopped audio, into rhythm and texture. It grew out of IDM and experimental electronica, and glitch hop later fused those broken textures with hip hop drums and bass. In this collection the glitch character sits mostly on hip hop and dubstep-style beats rather than abstract sound art, which is why it works for tech ads and motion design.
Mostly glitch hop and beat-driven electronic. The dominant sub-genres are hip hop instrumental beats, IDM glitch, progressive electronic, underground hip hop and dubstep, with trip hop on a couple of tracks, and the sounds-like references are glitch hop, BT, Glitch Mob, trap and future bass. Swagger and exciting are the top moods, so expect heavy percussion on almost every cue rather than the beatless side of glitch. Flares' Dust & Gravel and The Gremlin & Scottay's An Unexpected Journey are good entry points.
About two thirds are instrumental, and many of those are instrumental versions of vocal songs, marked in the title: Evoke's Bittersweet (Instrumental), Fademan & Oleg K's Wake Me Up (instrumental), BH's Fight Forever (instrumental) and Syrenne's Alone With You feat. Shannon Soderlund (Instrumental). The remaining third carries vocals, for example BH's The Summit and Corporate's T13, which suit a hype cut or fashion edit where the voice is part of the energy.
Glitch music works under a tech ad voiceover if you pick the instrumental versions and give the drums room. Ads quirky and technology are the two most common tags across the collection, so the tracks were chosen for product reveals, app demos, UI motion graphics and launch films. The percussion is dense, so duck the bed well under narration and cut on the drops; with tracks averaging around four minutes, there is ample material to build a fifteen or thirty second edit or a loopable section for a longer explainer.
